Behind the Process
For Christopher, creativity begins with curiosity.
He has always been fascinated by how things function — both in the natural and artificial world and within the mechanical objects and structures that surround us.
Many sculptures begin with familiar forms: Figures, tools, familiar forms, plants or simple everyday objects.
Through drawing and experimentation these forms are gradually simplified and subtly abstracted, reducing them to their essential shapes.
The aim is to create sculptures that feel both recognisable and entirely new.
For Christopher, creativity is an ongoing process of observation, experimentation and discovery.
