Christopher Lisney, Sculpture forged by hand

For more than thirty years, British sculptor Christopher Lisney has created distinctive works in forged steel and bronze for gardens, interiors and public spaces.

Working from his studio near Cheltenham, he transforms familiar forms — figures, birds, leaves and organic structures — into sculptures that feel both dynamic and unexpectedly alive.

Each piece begins with drawing and is shaped by hand using traditional forging techniques, allowing strength, movement and delicacy to coexist.

Christopher first exhibited at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2003 and continued to return for over sixteen years.

His sculptures are held in collections across the UK, Europe and America.

Sculpture for garden, interior and landscape

Christopher’s work ranges from intimate pieces designed for private gardens to large public commissions.

Notable works include:

  • The Jesse Tree sculpture for Holly Mount Church in Malvern

  • The Pittville Community Bridge in Cheltenham — a 21.5 metre sculptural pedestrian bridge

  • Sculptures commissioned by collectors, galleries, architects and institutions internationally
